Morajazz Project allows us to be free, each musician expresses himself as he likes and that makes it special, the music is always to be celebrated with a smile and the greatest satisfaction.

Musical project that begins in Caracas, Venezuela by Oscar Mora, Guitarist and Sound Engineer graduated from Taller de Arte Sonoro, who in 2005 was selected as a music producer for his project "The Experimental Morajazz" and invited in the select Venezuelan group that participated in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) in Seattle, Wa. that same year.

 

After a successful participation in RBMA, where he has the opportunity to learn from the hand of great artists such as Eumir Deodato, Questlove, Osunlade among others, he returns to Caracas where he is granted the position of Mister X (RBMA Ambassador) position he held for two years and then forced to leave Venezuela due to political reasons.

 

Arrives in Playa del Carmen, Qroo. Mexico in 2007 and remains active for some years as a musician playing with some bands and working as a sound engineer.

 

In 2017, after several attempts he decided to take the Morajazz proposal in his hands again and invited Marisela Lovera (Ven) Venezuelan singer also residing in Playa del Carmen, Enrique Mayoral (Mex) bassist, bassist and director of the Big Band of Playa del Playa Carmen, Reynaldo Jiménez (Mex) percussionist with extensive experience and one of the first to join the project for several years, Jorge Méndez (Mex) pianist who was later invited to participate at the invitation of Enrique Mayoral, and finally Marlon Vargas (Mex ) drummer who is the youngest member of the project.

 

Thus creating the conditions that have allowed this Venezuelan-Mexican project to flow in a different and positive way, each musician proposes and enjoys, even taking the roots of our peoples in a rich mix of jazz, funk, soul, and world music, being Participate in what we call honest music, made with the best of intentions.

 

Today we continue to create with the intention of sharing it in music festivals, especially those dedicated to jazz, funk and world music.
